Holiday Salutations From the KOC
For the third year in a row, Hallmark has sent Keepsake Ornament Club (KOC) members a holiday card with a sneak peek at one of next years new Keepsake Ornament series. The front of the card depicts a festively decorated living room setting with the first-in-a-series ‘Kringle and Kris’ ornament by Kristina Gaughran pictured standing in the center of the room, in front of a fireplace, between a sack full of toys and a Christmas tree. The ornament is also shown on the back of the card along with a few lines about the artist.

Keepsake Artist Nello Williams shares some fun, new interactive ways to celebrate the Christmas countdown, and a jukebox that’s sure to get you rockin’ around the Christmas tree.
Nello Williams grew up drawing anytime, anyplace, even in school—and not just in art class. His class notes ended up looking more like artwork than a study sheet.
The young artist started out sculpting the ships and robots from the television program Lost in Space. Once, he saw a scary dungeon set advertised in a comic book, but like most kids, couldn’t afford to buy it. So Nello recreated the toy instead.
Popular culture kept on inspiring Nello’s art. In high school, he and a friend made masks of characters from Planet of the Apes—a big movie of the day. Now he keeps up on the latest trends for his creations in Keepsake Ornaments.
Nello spends much of his outside time nurturing one of his other big interests—music. He designed the album covers (wishful thinking) and T-shirts for his high school garage band. He even designed a guitar for himself, and twenty years later, he actually built it! Nello sees guitar design as a place where his two great loves, sculpture and music, meet.

2013 Local Club Ornament Fall Mailing
The last of the four mailings local clubs will receive from the national Keepsake Ornament Club for 2013 is currently being delivered to Club Sponsors/Club Contacts.
The shipment contains: the October issue of Collectively Speaking, the 2014 Local Club Roster form, some 2013 KEEPSAKE EXPERT pins and the 2013 Local Club ornament*, which is a repainted version of the 2013 “One Sweet Gingerbread Boy” ornament.
One Sweet Gingerbread Boy, by Kristina Gaughran, is sure to sweeten your mood. Although a sweet treat, your FREE Local Club ornament for 2013 isn’t for eating, but he’s sure to bring some additional fun to your Christmas tree. You never know, perhaps he’ll even inspire edible treats for your holiday parties.

Although these ornament are free to our members, there is a nominal fee charged to cover the cost of the packing materials used and shipping charges (actual postage) incurred. Alternatively, individuals can obtain any of the local club ornaments we have available at no cost at any Hallmark sponsored event where we are in attendance.
