Ornament Spotlight: New Series

Santa’s sidekicks

Our favorite holiday helpers, elves and reindeer, are the stars of two sweet new series from Keepsake Artists Allie Robillard and Rob Stanphill.

“In Eight Tiny Reindeer, I wanted to put my own spin on the classic characters from ‘The Night Before Christmas’ poem,” says Allie. “Starting with Dasher, each series ornament will have a unique color palette, a jingling bell and a saddle blanket with their name. The blankets have a homemade quality, like Mrs. Claus sewed them herself. And every reindeer has a special birthmark!”

Rob’s series, Welcome to Elfville, takes us into the heart of a happy holiday town filled with elves. Each ornament is actually a set of two: a full-size festive shop and a miniature shop owner. The first small business (pun intended) is Candy’s Bakery.

“I imagined all the things Candy would fill her shop with. Rolling pins, oven mitts, cinnamon bread, cookies and more all found a place in the architecture,” Rob says. “I’m always looking for ways to spark the imagination of kids and adults, and I’m excited to see Elfville grow with new residents, interesting buildings and fun little places to visit.”

Ornament Spotlight: Baking up some fun

Baking up some fun

Sugar and spice, Gnaughty and Gnice, and all your favorite series—that’s what this collaborative design is made of.

“Our studio ornament is always fun because every artist has a chance to put a little personality into it,” says Keepsake Artist Orville Wilson. “Sharon Visker came up with the original design, and all the artists sketched a fun kitchen detail or a piece from one of their series. Then I spent two weeks sculpting and coloring every little character and accent.”

From Nellco appliances to Cup of Cozy, the kitchen table is filled with favorite Keepsake Ornament series reimagined as sweet treats and baking supplies. And, of course, the merry and mischievous Gnome for Christmas brothers are head chefs. How many series can you find?

Ornament Spotlight: LIONELVILLE®

Next stop: Lionelville®

This year, Lionel Trains is celebrating its 125th anniversary. We’ve been proud partners since our first LIONEL® Trains ornament released in 1996, and almost 30 years later we’re still finding new ways to surprise our collectors. This year’s Lionel table decoration, our first ever, began with a 2004 ornament by retired artist Ken Crow. Matt Johnson customized it with a fresh color palette, new train models and an anniversary billboard.

“I used a three-dimensional scanner to create the basic framework, then resculpted and added in all the textures and colors—and every single rock. I loved the process of fine-tuning those details,” Matt says.

He also collaborated with Keepsake Engineer Samantha Heryford to rebuild the mechanics and develop new magic features. The result is a 360-degree interactive scene with moving trains and railroad crossing arms, tunnels, lights, sound and a controller that allows you to change the direction of the trains. All aboard!

Ornament Spotlight: Disney The Haunted Mansion Collection

Disneyland Manor Tree Topper
The Haunted Mansion Collection

Welcome back, foolish mortals!

The third and final year of our Disney The Haunted Mansion Collection is here, bringing you the last two ornaments in the series and a frightfully fun new tree topper.

“We heard from our collectors that they really wanted to see the Haunted Mansion from Disneyland—and we listened!” says Keepsake Artist Orville Wilson. “I was a big fan of the ride when I visited the park myself, but I still spent a week researching the house and collecting images from every different angle so I could get all those rustic, haunted details just right.”

With interactive light, music and dialogue, this collection comes together to bring the Haunted Mansion to life…if you dare to enter. Any volunteers?

Ornament Spotlight: PEANUTS® 75th Anniversary

PEANUTS® 75th Anniversary
Special Edition

75 years of Peanuts®

Snoopy and his pals have brought happiness to fans of all ages since 1950, so we’re celebrating their big milestone with our favorite form of happiness…new ornaments!

“Peanuts is a longtime partner of Hallmark, and they trust us to take Charles Schulz’s beloved characters and create new favorites for fans, like I’ve done for this 75th anniversary ornament,” says Keepsake Artist Gregor Benedetti. “I love how these stories speak to both kids and the kid in all of us.”

Keepsake Artist Tammy Haddix agrees there’s something magical about working on characters you’ve known since childhood. Together with Adan Chung, she created this year’s Snoopy as The Flying Ace ornament, which features four scenes from the classic comic strip and music from “Snoopy vs. The Red Baron” performed by The Royal Guardsmen, just like in the TV special.

“I want anyone who sees my ornaments to go ‘Aww!’” Tammy says. “I hope Snoopy fans love it.”

Artist Insight: In The Studio with Allie Robillard

The Keepsake Studio spoke with Hallmark Artist Allie Robillard about her background and shared a glimpse of an ornament she created for 2025.

Allie: “I’ve been at Hallmark for around 8 years, and I’ve been working on ornaments the entire time. I spent 3 years in Hallmark Ornaments before moving over to Keepsake Ornaments for the next 3 years. And now I kind of double-dip into both!”

Allie: “Oh, wow, club members probably wouldn’t realize how much I love the horror genre. Most of my ornaments are on the sweeter side with bright colors and fun vibes. I couldn’t tell you why, but I’ve always just loved horror movies.”

Allie: “I’m looking forward to spending more time outside as a family. I LOVE winter but I’m missing how easy it is to get outside for a quick walk or playground run.“

Allie: “I was originally inspired by my best friends as I was designing this ornament. But then, I found a new, special meaning when I learned I was pregnant with my second daughter! Now I will always see my girls in these fox sisters.“
