Five things that are different from the KOC membership program today and that will be new and exciting in 2018.
New Membership Timing
- Change from rolling membership to “Calendar Year” plan Membership
- Starts when you enroll and continues throughout the calendar year
- Ends December 31st of each year (The earlier you join the longer your membership is technically active.)
One Membership fee ( for all) to join the club
- Annual membership fee of $49.99 (requires no ornament selection up front and kicks off the delivery of several exciting Keepsake Studio gifts)
- No taxes

Later open Enrollment in 2018

- KOC Brochure (explaining all of the 2018 benefits) and Application Form mailed in late March

2017 Ornament Spotlight: Scotland, Santas from Around the World
Created by Edythe Kegrize, this in-store, club-exclusive ornament is rich in detail.
Edythe started with in-depth research on the artistries and iconic symbols of Scotland. “I look at things that people think of first when they think of the area and then also like to hide little things in the surface design that are of importance as well. The plaid and the bagpipes are iconic, and he’s wearing a tam, the traditional Scottish hat.”
What’s not as obvious is one of those little things Edythe hid. “There’s a Celtic knot surface design that incorporates a stylized thistle, which is an emblem of Scotland.” The thistle is an important symbol of Scottish heraldry that has inspired legends and poetry and can be seen in artwork throughout Scotland.
Edythe’s detailed work also includes attachment details like the cord with a tassel that holds the pipes of the bagpipes together. “I wanted to add that extra little attachment detail of the cording to make it feel authentic.”

Special Winter Cardinals Surprise
What was the rarest bird at the convention?
Most convention attendees would probably answer the miniature Elegant Hummingbird repaint… However, there was apparently another bird that was potentially more rare.
Ring in the Season
3rd in the series.
While many lined up for the opportunity to purchase a Mystery Bag in hopes of finding the elusive little hummingbird inside, at least one convention attendee discovered a gold-plated winter cardinals bell, third in the Ring in the Season series, in her product bag instead of the replated first in series bell (featuring scrollwork and snowflakes) created exclusively for the 2017 KOC event.
Whether this was accidental or a surprise that Hallmark kept a secret is anyone’s guess, but in the meantime check your Ring in the Season bell from the event to see if you were also a secret winner, and then please come back and share what you discovered! GOOD LUCK!
Welcome to Keepsakes Village KOC Event Gift Bag
There were many surprises for attendee’s to enjoy inside their commemorative event tote bag. Here are the gifts that were enclosed in the teal and white polyester tote:
