Wayne Gretzky

Born in Brantford, Ontario, Wayne Gretzky began skating as soon as he could stand and by the age of six was playing on a 10-and-under team. His professional career started in the WHA at age seventeen, and the next year he was playing in the NHL as an Edmonton Oilers. The “Great One” dominated the NHL for his entire career and holds or shares more than 61 NHL records. As an Edmonton Oilers he surpassed the 200 point mark four times and help Edmonton win four Stanley Cups. He explains his winning technique simply: “I skate to where the puck is going to be, not to where it has been.”

Né à Brantford en Ontario, Wayne Gretzky a commencé à pariner dès qu’il savait se tenir debout, et à l’âge de six ans, il faisait partie d’une équipe de joueurs de moins de dix ans. Sa carrière professionnelle a débuté au sein de l’Association mondiale de hockey à l’âge de dix-sept ans, et l’année d’après il faisait partie de la Ligue nationale de hockey avec les Oilers d’Edmonton. Ce grand joueur s’est démarqué au sein de la Ligue nationale de hockey durant toute sa carrière et détient ou partage plus de 6l records de la LNH. Avec les Oilers d’Edmonton, il a accumulé plus de 200 points à quatre reprises et a aidé son équipe à obtenir quatre victoires de la Coupe Stanley. Il décrit sa technique gagnante simplement en disant :
« Je patine là où la rondelle va, et non pas où elle était.»
