Holiday Salutations From the KOC
For the third year in a row, Hallmark has sent Keepsake Ornament Club (KOC) members a holiday card with a sneak peek at one of next years new Keepsake Ornament series. The front of the card depicts a festively decorated living room setting with the first-in-a-series ‘Kringle and Kris’ ornament by Kristina Gaughran pictured standing in the center of the room, in front of a fireplace, between a sack full of toys and a Christmas tree. The ornament is also shown on the back of the card along with a few lines about the artist.

CREATED ESPECIALLY FOR
Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Club Members
The Kringle and Kris series brings back wonderful memories for Keepsake Ornament sculptor Kristina Gaughran. Playing in mountains of Iowa snow. Watching Mom paint beautiful snow angels on the bay window. Climbing on Daddy to put the angel atop the tree (the same angel Kristina’s son now puts on her family tree). Those treasured memories help Kristina create happy, playful scenes of Santa and a special friend sharing the fun of getting ready for Christmas.
Mischievous Kittens 15th Anniversary Ornament Inspection (UPDATED)
A portion of the September Keepsake Ornament Club (KOC) exclusive Mischievous Kittens 15th Anniversary (QXC5072) ornaments have non-toxic mold on them. Although it is undetermined as to what has caused this, it is speculated that it may have been caused by the product being packaged prior to the paint or resin drying fully.
Stores have been asked to inspect their remaining inventory, pull any affected pieces and accept customer returns relating to this issue. The stores have also been asked to report (prior to September 20) the number of affected ornaments they have so that replacement product can be sent to them.
Replacement ornaments are scheduled to arrive in mid-November.

SNEAK PEEK!
The KOC is so excited about Anita Marra Rogers’ wood carving of Santa, they just couldn’t wait to share it with you. This beautifully painted wood sculpture was designed by Anita during a wood carving workshop she attended with other Keepsake Artists, and is one of three wood carvings that will be auctioned at the 2013 KOC Event on August 3. This year’s auction proceeds will be donated to CureSearch Center for Children’s Cancer.
You may recognize the puppy Santa is holding, as he is inspired by Anita’s childhood memories. Dusty, a cocker spaniel, was the dog of one of Anita’s best friends, and the puppy who caused us all to fall in love with the Puppy Love series as he was the first. All special dogs deserve special treats.
If you look close enough, you’ll see Santa has a treat hiding for Dusty in his coat pocket.
We can’t wait to see you in Kansas City!
