The original angel was primarily dark blue and gold, but Terri lightened the palette and layered patterns and textures to create a mid-century modern ceramic effect. The fine pinpoint designs on the angel’s wings and robe were influenced by the signature embossing technique used by Viennese artist Andrew Szoeke, who designed Hallmark’s now Famous “Crown” logo.
