Pretty Parrot

As the artist behind the Beauty of Birds series, Edythe Kegrize decided to branch out and capture the exquisiteness of a tropical feathered friend.

“I didn‘t want to neglect all the fabulous, stunning birds that are out there,” she says.

Created exclusively for Keepsake Ornament Club members, Edythe designed this scarlet macaw–the largest species of parrot-with its wings fully extended to illustrate its vibrancy.

“You seldom see a pet bird in flight, but it‘s in flight when they show off all of their colors.”

This pretty wonder has three crystals on each wing and a lustrous finish that feels like cloisonné enamel.

“I usually choose not to replicate nature because you can‘t improve upon the real thing,” Edythe says.
