Kris Gaughran grew up watching her aspiring-artist mother enter paintings in 4H competitions, intricately decorate cookies, and never give up on her passion for creating. “She inspired me to do the same,” Kris explains. “From early on, I found so many ways to be creative. I would draw, doodle, and add illustrations to the stories I read. My mom’s unwavering example continues to fuel my artistic expression today.”

So for this year, number 17 in the series is the freesia flower. And the Freesia flower’s meaning is innocence and thoughtfulness. And so you can see she’s got a beautiful little white freesia flower dress with little sparkles around the petals. She’s got just beautiful little blue eyes that coordinate with her wings, and beautiful dark, dark hair that’s curled down around her little shoulder there.
